K-8th Grade Programs
Girls Inc. offers a variety of programs and support that empower girls and young women through education, mentorship, and hands-on activities.
Girls Inc. Identity Programs are designed to provide girls with the skills, knowledge, and confidence they need to succeed in life, ensuring they grow up strong, smart, and bold. These programs are provided through the support of Girls Inc. National and are designed to grow along with the girls. Twice a week, girls in our afterschool & summer camp programs receive instruction through this curriculum, facilitated by trained staff and supported by volunteers. Learn more about our curriculum here.
Dream Harbor is the miniature community of businesses and agencies run by the girls right in the Girls Inc. Center. The girls manage businesses, earn Dream Dollars, pay taxes, track expenses, and pay for supplies to create products through their Girls Inc. Venture. Girls are grouped by interest rather than age, and work together to develop goods and services to sell at our monthly Market Day.
Dream Harbor Ventures include: Government, Bank, Cafe, Artisan’s Guild, STEM Lab, Newspaper, Parks & Rec, Imagination Station, Boutique, Spa & Salon, and more. The Dream Harbor Academic Center provides tutoring and homework assistance daily so that all girls have access to academic support and the technology they need to be successful.
Community Engagement opportunities are available at our Center – and beyond. Our partners come on-site or invite us to their organizations on field trips where girls they are introduced to a wide range of topics, interests, and experiential learning.
