question
Kelsey - age 9
What's your favorite thing to do at work?
answer
Well Kelsey, since I have 2 different businesses, it changes almost daily. I think that’s why I like to work so much. Each day is different. Mostly though, I would say cooking on TV and writing about food. I have such a passion, so that makes it a lot of fun.
question
Wendie - age 10
How long have you been cooking?
answer
Wendi- it seems that I have been cooking since I was a little girl. I had my first dinner party in the 5th grade. I made chicken with cornflakes, baked stuffed potatoes, a salad with Russian dressing and chocolate pudding if I recall.
question
Ajayla - age 9
Did you like to cook when you were a young girl?
answer
I think I was born wanting to cook. My Mom always let me stir things and help toss the salad so I loved touching food and exploring. I used to want to play restaurant and had an easy bake oven when I was in third grade. Do you like to cook Ajayla?
question
Caiti - age 9
What do you cook on your tv show?
answer
I like to cook recipes that you might find in a restaurant but make them easier for the home cook. Last week I made grilled Veal chops with a ginger peach sauce that took 15 minutes and almost anyone could make it. IS there anything you would like me to make on my show for you Caiti?
question
Mickeyvia - age 7
I like salad at Girls Inc. Do you like salad? What is your favorite salad?
answer
Well Mickeyvia- I most whole heartedly agree with you. Salad is my absolute favorite!!! I have a few favorites to be honest. I love anything Asian so I love Asian salads and a really good chopped salad. Most important to me though are lots of crisp lettuces and a light dressing. I don’t like cheese or fattening things in my salad. Occasionally I do like a layered salad, which has a mayonnaise dressing and chopped hard boiled egg and chopped bacon. It almost tastes like a BLT salad. For the most part though, I love lots a salad with red leaf lettuce and romaine, tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions and a hint of fresh lemon and balsamic vinegar.
question
Julissa - age 9
How do you make your smoothies?
answer
I use frozen fruit so I don’t have to use ice, which waters down the flavor. I don’t ever use the frozen fruit in syrup - too much sugar. Put about a cup of frozen peaches and a cup of fresh strawberries in the blender. I add about a ½ cup of plain fat free yogurt and sometimes even a banana, and either a little apple juice or a touch of orange juice. Put on the cover and blend- YUM!
